Hello, and welcome to our home! My husband, our two children, our adorable pup, and I live in a two-story brick colonial home in Louisville, KY, and we’ve been slowly renovating since purchasing it in August 2019.
We actually downsized from our previous house and couldn’t be happier with the decision – at just under 2000 square feet it is the perfect amount of space for our family. With 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a basement that we are currently in the process of finishing, it’s more than enough for our needs.
This house has a wonderful story, which is one of the reasons we decided to buy it. The owners we purchased from built the home and chose every finish – it has been well taken care of over the years, and they were kind enough to leave us every paper of anything that has ever been done to the home. We have everything back to the original advertisement to the neighborhood and the initial sketches and blueprints of the home.
Seriously…it was the coolest thing on move in day to open one of the kitchen drawers and find a treasure trove of stories told through documents. To the owners, if you are reading this: thank you so much for this home. We love it and will cherish it for years to come.
All of that being said, what makes a house a home (to me) is the projects and personality that you get to inject into the structure to make it yours. So here is the project list!
We’re in the thick of a kitchen renovation right now – so check back soon for lots of updates! The picture above is definitely not the finished product!
So there you have it! It really puts into perspective how much work we’ve already put into the house. I get caught up in the huge plans I have and forget to look at how far we’ve come!
