Welcome to DIY Without Fear! My name is Catherine Ballard, and I’m so excited that you’re here because that means you love DIY home renovations and improvements just as much as I do!
Whether you’re brand new to DIY or a seasoned renovation veteran, I know you’ll find great tips and resources on this blog. I am completely self and family-taught, so I definitely know what it’s like to make a mistake and learn from it.
So what will you get from DIY Without Fear?
I’m glad you asked! I provide insight and inspiration for homeowners that want to tackle renovation or decor projects and save money at the same time. So many homeowners struggle with confidence when it comes to DIY; whether it’s design, small projects, or large renovations, and I want to change that.
That’s why my passion IS DIY Without Fear – I think 99% of the projects in people’s homes can be tackled by the people already IN them (you!). I explain things as a fellow DIYer, not a professional. In other words, I break things down into easy to follow steps and bite-sized tips. I’ve learned a ton throughout my own DIY journey, and I can’t wait to share that knowledge with you!
Why Should You Listen To Me?
I grew up DIY-ing. My parents handed me screwdrivers before I could walk, and I know my way around power tools. Does that make me an expert? HAHAHA…no. But I have years of experience and an uncanny ability to never give up (and tackle anything, even if it’s scary). I want to help others learn from the mistakes that I’ve made, and guide them in the right direction. That fearlessness that I’ve developed has let me tackle some pretty serious renovations:
- I completely gutted our kitchen and remodeled it
- I replaced 1000+ square feet of carpet with gorgeous bamboo flooring
- I renovated our stairs with the same bamboo flooring we used upstairs and installed an inexpensive carpeted runner
Great Posts To Get You Started
If it’s your first time here or this will be your first time DIYing, welcome! I know jumping into DIY can be
a little a lot intimidating, so I’ve rounded up some of my best posts to help you stick that first foot in the water.
